Lynette Anita Sanders 61, received her heavenly wings on Thursday, April 11, 2024, in Pottstown, PA. Born in Marion Station on January 20, 1963, she was the beloved daughter of Leornard Horsey Sr. and the late Annie Mae Jackson.
Lynette, as she was affectionally called by those who loved her, was a devoted sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Lynette attended Crisfield High School in Crisfield, Maryland where she graduated in 1981. After graduation Lynette joined the United State Army and served for 3 years as a Petroleum Supply Specialist. After leaving the military Lynette found her true passion: caring for people where she became a Dialysis Technician working for over 30 years.
Lynette accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful youth member of Waters Chapel United Methodist Church, in Kingston, MD where she served on the youth choir. Lynette was also a member of the Jones Family Singers. Then she later joined Bethel Community Church of Pottstown where she was a faithful member. She served as a Missionary and Director of the Food Pantry until her health started to decline. Even in her illness Lynette fought a good fight, kept the faith, and encouraged others while on her journey. Lynette’s favorite song was “Precious Lord” by Fred Hammond and her favorite artist was Donnie McClurkin.
Lynette’s heart was big for family, tradition, and celebrations. Lynette enjoyed shopping for clothes, shoes, and purses. Lynette also enjoyed traveling across the world checking off her bucket list with Latrina.
In addition to her father, Lynette leaves loving memories with: One child she help rear as her own, Zashun Long and One niece she cherished like a daughter Latrina Barnhill. Ten Sisters, Barbara Hayward (Gene), Andrea Moses, Donna White (Robert), Shalinda Jackson (Vincent), Annie Culbreath (Wayne). Nadine Jones, Lenore Spence, Jessica Wright, Teirra Wright, and Sheneka S. Eleven brothers, Samuel Jones (Bonnie), Larry Jones, David Jones, Lawerence Jones (Althea), Leonard Horsey Jr., Anthony Horsey, Leonard Horsey (Little Brother) (Murtle), Stanley Schoolfield, Adrian Adkins, and David and Darrelle Barachew. Two God Daughter Ashira Jones and De’Aira Burks. One God Son Kamal Edwards. Two special friends, Alica Dennis, and Juanita Jackson. Two play daughters Tasha Sharp and Tasuaina Bass. Four aunts and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters Denise Horsey and Maria Dix.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown 575 N. Keim Street Pottstown, PA. The Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Please remember the family in your prayers.
